Synopsis

Very early in the morning, Marian, a 7 year old boy from a small and isolated Romanian village, wakes up his father and persuades him to go to the city, in order to fix their old TV set. Despite the bad weather, the father finally agrees. Marian and his father start the trip, carrying the TV set, hoping that in the city they will find Bichescu, a specialist, who will fix their problem. A short road-movie about father-and-son relationship and about the importance of small things in life.

Radu Jude

Radu Jude was born in Bucharest in 1977. He Graduated in 2003 from the filmmaking department of Media University. He worked as an assistant director for feature films shot in Romania, like "Amen" by Costa Gavras, "Vacuums" by Luke Creswell & Steve McNicholas, "The rage" by Radu Muntean and "The death of mr. Lazarescu" by Cristi Puiu. He directed the short films "Wrestling" (selected in over 20 international film festivals) , "The black sea" (2004) (screened at Berlinale Talent Campus), "The tube with a hat" (2006), a TV series and many advertising commercials. In 2007 he directed "In the morning", another shortfilm. He is currently developing the feature film "The happiest girl in the world", written by Augustina Barbu and himself.
